Clare-Marie Carlton had a wonderful short game in the morning to beat
Jennifer Mack in the 1st Semi Final. Donna Jackson beat Gillian Kyle in the
other Semi Final
Despite afternoon conditions being dreadful with torrential rain both Donna
and Clare- Marie played an enthralling match in near par scoring play
The match lasted until the 23rd hole when Donna struck a wayward shot to ruin
her chances of gaining her 10th Championship title.

 | April 24th 2003 - In the 1st Round of the Matchplay stages of the
County Championship Gillian Kyle (East Renfrewshire) was the star performer of
the day. She started out with an eagle 3 at the 1st hole and then continued
her outward half in brilliant form to end up being 3 under par at the turn
against Jennifer Jenkins (Ralston). Jennifer Mack (Haggs Castle) leading
qualifier continued her good form by beating Heather Anderson (Caldwell) in
the 1st Round. In the Quarter Finals, despite being 1 down with 2 to play
Jennifer rose to the occasion and managed to beat Lesley Robertson (Ranfurly
Castle) at the 18th. |
The tee off times for the Semi Finals take place at 09:30 and 09:45
tomorrow morning. (25th April)
The Final is at 2pm- ALL WELCOME (PLEASE COME AND SUPPORT)

 | April 23rd 2003 -. Jennifer Mack (Haggs Castle) is the top qualifier
in the County Championship Qualifying round with a gross 76 over Caldwell Golf
Course. Beth Paterson (Eastwood Golf Club) our Junior Secretary wins the Peggy
Clark Rose bowl with a net 70 (BIH) |
Heather Anderson (Caldwell) who initially had gross 80 was penalised the
maximum of 4 shots by the organizing committee when she discovered that she
had carried an extra club in her bag. She still however, managed to scrape in
as the last qualifier for the match play stages with a gross 84.
Special mention should be given to the youngest member of the field 13 year
old Megan Briggs (Handicap 15 -Ranfurly Castle) who unfortunately carded an 11
at the par 4 - 8th taking 5 to get out of a bunker. She then had an 8 at the
par 4 - 11th Recovered well with a birdie 2 at the 16th to end up with a gross
89 only to be 6 away from the last qualifying match play place. This is a name
to look out for in the future
 | April 14th 2003 (April Medal) -. Christeen Finlayson (Whitecraigs)
our Secretary wins the April Medal at Bonnyton with a net 71 with Moira
Begbie (Kilmacolm) winning the best scratch award with an 83

 | April 7th 2003 (Spring Meeting) - Linda Stevenson
(Whitecraigs) wins Spring Meeting at Whitecraigs with a net 70 from
Brenda Livingstone (East Renfrewshire) by the BIH with the best Scratch score
carded by Donna Jackson (Cochrane Castle) with a Gross 76.
