15th March 2004: D&A County Launch their new
|D&A have joined Midlothian and Renfrewshire in
providing a County Golf website for their members.

10th March 2004 : Winter
Maureen Mitchell and Mamie Robin win the Final
|The Final of the Winter Foursomes
was played yesterday at Williamwood Golf Course between
Maureen Mitchell and Mamie Robin representing
Old Ranfurly and
Marion Munro and Rosemary Reedie from
and refereed by
Captain Aileen Wilson.
On a course that was a mixture of temporary and full greens
the final was an exciting affair despite the falling temperature during the
Maureen and Mamie were
3 up after
10 holes. Marion and Rosemary then clawed back the next 3
holes to go all square. However, they lost the 14th where they
had to give one of the two strokes they were giving to the Old
Ranfurly duo and then lost the 15th. Marion and Rosemary then
won the 16th to be one down and then looked as if they were going to
win the 17th when Maureen sank a magnificent putt to halve the
hole and be 1 up going down the 18th. The 18th was then won by Marion
and Rosemary to tie the match and go down the 19th
The match then finished at the 19th with Maureen
and Mamie playing the hole well and Marion and Rosemary getting into

Hello there golfers.
Time for all members to get ready for the new season-Time now to start
practicing -Time to send in your competition

from our Renfrewshire Coach Karyn Burns
Things are looking good for the County Team.
The squad are training hard and
nine of them have had three group sessions with coach
Karyn Burns at Mearns
Castle Golf Academy, and are all full of enthusiasm. Their first training
match is on 21st March 2004 when Renfrewshire play the West of
girls at Paisley Golf Club. The match starts at 11am.
Two of our members are in the Scottish SLGA Training Squads -
is in the Senior Squad and Clare-Marie Carlton
is in the under-18 squad. And
those lucky two each have a training week in Spain in early to mid March.
What a start to their season! Good luck to them.
