20th June 2005: A MESSAGE FROM YOUR COUNTY CAPTAIN

Congratulations to all members who have won competitions, reduced handicaps
and played good golf- see our Results page for further information.

YOUR RENFREWSHIRE TEAM MEMBERS  are now looking forward to the Jamboree (West Division Inter County Matches) at Lanark Golf Club on Monday 27th June to Wednesday 29th June 2005.

The caddy posts have all been taken- my thanks to all those that have
volunteered - it is greatly appreciated by the Team.

I hope that most members will come to Lanark and bring friends to watch,
support and encourage OUR players. Although it is quite a journey I hope you
would think of it as a pleasant outing and a great 'AWAY DAY' where I know
you will see some great players including some of the top Scottish if not
British players around.

The Renfrewshire Team play as follows:
Monday v Lanarkshire 9am and 1.30pm
Tuesday v Ayrshire 9.30am and 2.15pm
Wednesday v Dunbartonshire 9.30am and 2.15pm.

Established Team players Donna, Jenny, Clare-Marie, Kate and Gillian McGinlay
along with our great newcomers Megan Briggs, Gillian Kyle and Julie Wilson
would really welcome your support. This is very much part of WHAT THE
COUNTY IS ABOUT
and I hope to see YOU and friends at Lanark full of
enthusiasm for whatever time you can manage.

7th June 2005: Gillian McGinlay is the star performer at the County Medal at Greenock

Gillian McGinlay had a terrific round today in the June Medal played over Greenock Golf Course. Her Gross 73, net 67 was the best of the day. Gillian was out in 38 -- one over par and back in 35 also one over par --- Well done Gillian --- Her playing partners Carol Whyte (Windyhill)  and Dorothy Yates (Cowglen) said she was awesome !!!!!

Maureen Cook (Lochwinnoch) won the the 13 and upwards handicap award with a net 72 despite having a  quadruple bogey 7 at the Par 3 -- 197 yard  7th hole. With the 19.8 adjustment rule this is converted to a 5 at that hole and for handicap purposes Maureen is now 1 under the css of 71 and has cut her handicap. -- Well done Maureen

The Medal also incorporated the Medal Finals and Carol Fell (Ranfurly Castle) off a handicap of 11 had a net 71
