RENFREWSHIRE LADIES’ COUNTY GOLF ASSOCIATION CONSTITUTION
(as amended in 2005)
1. The Association shall be called "The Renfrewshire Ladies’
County Golf Association hereinafter referred to as "The Association".
2. The Association will comply with all legislation enacted by
the United Kingdom and Scottish Parliaments.
3. The objects of the Association shall be:
(i) to uphold the Rules of the Game of Golf and the Rules
relative to County Golf as set out in the SLGA Regulations and to further the
interests of ladies’ amateur golf in Renfrewshire County at senior and junior
levels.
(ii) to select and maintain County team(s) and representatives.
(iii) to institute a disciplinary procedure to deal with any
complaints received.
4. The membership shall consist of Honorary, Ordinary and
Non-Playing members, the total membership to be determined by the Management
Committee.
5. (i) The Entrance Fees and Subscriptions shall be such sums as
The Association in General Meeting shall from time to time decide.
(ii) No Entry Fee nor Subscription is payable by persons under
23 years of age on 1st January following the Annual General Meeting.
(iii) The Fee payable by Non-Playing Members shall be a one-off
payment.
(iv) All Annual Subscriptions shall be due by 30th November
following the Annual General Meeting.
(v) The Committee shall have the power to remove from The
Membership Register the name of any member whose subscription remains unpaid at
30th November whereupon she shall cease to be a member.
(vi) The Committee shall have the power to set-up a Disciplinary
Sub-Committee and an Appeals Sub-Committee to deal with any complaints received
and to formulate rules and procedures to deal with complaints received.
6. The Management of The Association shall be vested in the
Committee which shall consist of the Honorary President, Captain, Vice-Captain,
Secretary, Treasurer, Junior Secretary and nine elected Members. The Immediate
Past Captain shall serve ex officio for one year. (Five shall form a quorum).
7. The Captain, Vice Captain, Secretary, Treasurer and Junior
Secretary shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. The Captain
shall hold office for two years.
8. The elected Members of Committee shall hold office for three
years. Three shall retire annually by rotation and the Members so retiring shall
be ineligible for re-election for one year.
9. In the event of there being insufficient nominations to fill
any or all of the vacancies the Committee may co-opt Members to fill such
vacancies.
10. Casual vacancies occurring in the Committee may be filled by
the Committee.
11. (i) A new member shall be proposed and seconded by members
of at least five years standing.
(ii) A member may only be a proposer or seconder once in five
years or a period to be determined at the discretion of the Management
Committee.
(iii) A low handicap golfer may be proposed and seconded by the
Captain and President in their years of office.
(iv) Junior girls who have obtained a silver handicap may join
The Association as an Ordinary Member without requiring a proposer and seconder
at the discretion of the Committee.
12. The Secretary shall keep full minutes of all meetings.
13. The Annual General Meeting shall be held in November of each
year on such date therein as the Committee shall decide. An audited financial
statement will be submitted by the Treasurer and all business transacted.
14. At all General Meetings of The Association twenty shall be a
quorum.
15. Auditor(s) shall be appointed annually at the Annual General
Meeting.
16. In all Stroke Competitions except the Foursomes a Ballot
shall be taken to determine partners and the order of starting.
17. The Committee shall determine the provision and allowances
for team members and caddies as and when required.
18. All disputes shall be referred to the Committee whose
decision shall be final.

THE FOLLOWING CHANGES ARE PROPOSED:
